Ejecución, La Gasulla (Castellon) España

An awful and premonitory image described thousands of years ago on the walls of Valltorta shelters, in Spain, leave us all speechless by the way it shows what the future centuries would be like. The scene drawn by an anonymous author shows a summary execution where different archers lift their arches claiming victory and a dead body lies on the right side at the bottom of the picture, covered with arrows trespassing his body. This same image will be shown again by the great artist Francisco de Goya, on the third of May, 1808 in Madrid through "Los fusilamientos en la montaña del príncipe Pío 1814"   Prehistoric men's nature is also warlike, since they kill other beings of their same race, thus becoming a territorial animal through strength. War images described by our ancestors are as heart-rending as the ones from the 20 th and 21 st centuries of our age: summarial executions, pitched battles among warriors, men fighting hand-to-hand due to the appropriation (robbery) of animals, a warrior being hurt by uncountable arrows, dead bodies… It is a document which, unfortunately, is real still now, and so this should make us reflect as for what future generations are concerned......Verdejo
